Plum Island was the name of a fictional coffee shop & creamery we were asked to design a packaging system for in packaging design. The shop was located on an island in the state of new york, and many chose to incorporate nautical themes in their designs to reflect this. I went in another direction, taking inspiration from where the coffee came from instead. I wanted to bring a lush, vibrant feel to the coffee shop, while making it feel fun and inviting. The font used in the logo was altered to fit this aesthetic, and I created several animal focused illustrations for both the ice creams and the coffee cups. I wanted to reward people who took the time to really look at the designs, so I did things like make fun animal facts on the inside of the lids of the ice cream, and strove to make the illustrations interesting from all angles of the packaging.
